Dragons den pitch

By doing this I have been able to decide about the name of my magazine as well as the genre and all other aspects of the magazine. Doing research helped me collect inspiration for my magazine as at first I did not know what to do at all. Looking at NME really helped as it has a large range of different genres, I looked at the rate cards to see their target audience, this helped me decide the target audience and gave me good inspiration

Thinking of a consept

I found this very useful as it helped me decide what I wanted for my colour scheme and genre as well as the other things. I still need to decide the name but it helped me come closer to choosing as I used the genre to help me.

Image analysis

I learned that using angles really helps as it makes the mood of the picture and article. For example a close up would be for emotion so the depending on the expression would help make the mood serious or fun. If the angle was low it would make the model look bigger and powerful which could be used for a big star or a up and coming star.

Formatting Research

Doing this task helped me as now I have a rough idea of what I want my layout to look like. Looking at other magazines helped as I could use it as inspiration and get my ideas from them. Looking at the alignments that is what I will aim to do it like. As I based it on NME they like to use pictures a lot so I will aim to add a few pictures in there. 

Flat Plan

NME is a very popular magazine and appeals to mainly young readers. They have a range of genre but move towards more indie based material if we had to pick one.

Studying NME I learned that it is possible to make a magazine like this as it has a wide range of audiences with not much of a genre as they will have articles on anyone in it. It would be possible to do this as I can use most genres and make the best magazine to my abilities

Double Page Spread Research

Doing this task has helped me to think about my design layout and how I will approach it. I think it has also taught me techniques such as where to put my title and how to set it out, also it has increased my knowledge on what to include for a box out and what to have in it.   

Contents Checklist

I learned some good techniques for the contents page. For example they all have a main picture as well as a title. also they are very important as they give a brief cover of the whole magazine and tell you where to find the articles you want to look for. Doing this was good as I learned important ways of making a good contents page.

I learned that the techniques they use are mainly to represent their magazine. They think about little things that make the difference like the way they dress and they way stand. Also the colour is important as they don't want their magazine to not fit the genre and not look appealing. They even focus on the expression on the faces to give off the mood of the magazine. They need to use all of these things as it helps set the mood and genre of the magazine and without them nobody would want to buy their magazine.

Doing this task really helped me to learn the techniques of marketing it can use. I also found inspiration for ideas to use when I am making my magazine. I also used Padlet for the first time so it was strange to get used to it.
